Assam: Kokrajhar Launches 100-Day Campaign to Eradicate Tuberculosis

Assam: In a decisive step towards eliminating tuberculosis, the District Health Services of Assam’s Kokrajhar has rolled out a 100-day intensified campaign under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program.

The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s ambitious goal of making the country TB-free by 2025.

As part of the campaign, the district health authorities introduced a special awareness-driving ambulance equipped to disseminate crucial information about TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

This mobile unit aims to reach communities across Kokrajhar, educating the public on the importance of early detection and accessible treatment options.

A key focus of the campaign is reducing the stigma associated with tuberculosis, which often deters patients from seeking timely medical intervention. By fostering awareness and encouraging open conversations, the health department hopes to build community participation in the fight against the disease.

The initiative reflects a broader commitment to public health, with district authorities urging citizens to engage actively in the campaign for a healthier and TB-free future in Kokrajhar and beyond.
