Guwahati: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption cell Lat Mandal and his driver was arrested on suspicion of taking demanded bribe money on Thursday in Sonapur of Assam.
According to reports, the anti-corruption branch carried out a raid at Office of the Circle Officer in Sonapur.
The team arrested Lat Mandal identified as Rajesh Roy and his driver Rantu Kalita during the operation.
Rajesh Roy was apprehended while taking demanded money of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant.
An investigation into the situation is underwayeing.
