Assam Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session to Commence on February 17
Assam: The Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly is set to begin on February 17, marking a significant departure from the usual venue in Dispur.
The inaugural day will be held at the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Legislative Chamber in Kokrajhar, while the remaining days will take place at the Assembly Chamber in Dispur, the state capital.
The session, summoned by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya under Article 174(1) of the Constitution of India, will commence at noon.
Governor Acharya has been actively reviewing developmental activities across Assam, including a recent visit to Tinsukia where he assessed the progress of welfare projects and implementation of schemes like MGNREGA and PMAY-G.
On January 6, Governor Acharya launched three state-level initiatives aimed at promoting gratitude towards armed forces personnel, enhancing community welfare, and encouraging environmental conservation. These initiatives include:
- Rashtriya Kritagyata Evam Jagrookta Yojana: Promotes gratitude towards armed forces personnel
- Kartavya se Vikas Yojana: Enhances community welfare
- Amrit Sarovar – Sadbhavna Sangat Protsahan Yojana: Encourages environmental conservation
