Guwahati: A person belonging to Assam was arrested in connection with a case where a huge consignment of explosives was seized in Meghalaya’s Nongpoh.
The arrested person was identified as Hasem Ali of Kamrup who was arrested by the police based on specific inputs. He was arrested from the Alikash Ghat in the Kamrup district.
He was arrested in connection with the seizure of 2,044 aluminum improvised electrical detonators and more than 4,027 gelatin sticks. The seizure took place on Friday where a vehicle belonging to Assam was intercepted by the Meghalaya police based on intelligence input. The vehicle during the seizure was on its way to Assam and along with the seizure, one person was also arrested.
On further investigation, the police found that Ali was the owner of the consignment, and based on the inputs, he was arrested.
