Guwahati: A man was electrocuted to death in Jorhat district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the Teok town of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Bora who is a resident of Bhogamukh area and is survived by his mother and his newly wedded-wife.
According to reports, Bora was putting up his new shop in front of his residence when the tragedy occurred.
Bora was electrocuted while working in his shop when a rod came into contact with power lines.
Reports further stated that the locals and neighbours rushed him to the hospital but Bora died on his way.
The incident created a tense situation in the area. Locals stated that Bora’s death was caused by the Gaurisagar sub-division’s incompetence.
It may be mentioned that they also urged an investigation into the incident.
