Assam: Man from Tinsukia District Missing, Suspected to Have Joined ULFA Faction

Guwahati, 2nd June: In a concerning development, Ujjal Baruah from Phillobari Tarani in Assam’s Tinsukia district has gone missing, sparking speculation that he may have joined the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) faction. Ujjal, son of Maneswar Baruah, disappeared on Thursday after leaving home with plans to travel to Kerala for work.

Efforts by Ujjal’s family to reach him were fruitless until Saturday morning, when his sister managed to make brief contact. During the conversation, Ujjal, crying, mentioned that he was in a different place and urged his family not to worry.

Following this, the family lodged a missing person report at Pengeri police station. Police tracked Ujjal’s phone signal to Mon district in Nagaland, heightening fears of his possible involvement with ULFA (Swa).

Ujjal’s disappearance has caused significant distress among his family and the local community. They have appealed to ULFA (Swa) commander Paresh Baruah to ensure Ujjal’s safe return.
