Guwahati: A man was admitted to the hospital with a “gunshot injuries” in Biswanath district of Assam.
The incident took place in the Gohpur town of the district.
The injured has been identified Kamal Gogoi alias Pappu.
According to reports, Gogoi was shot while he allegedly attempted to flee from police custody.
He was reportedly arrested by Gohpur police on March 24 based on a phone recording.
Meanwhile, he was shot on his left leg while he tried to evade the police and was immediately transferred to Gohpur Civil Hospital for further treatment.
However, when the police arrived to check on Pappu’s health, they got into a fight with his family.
It needs to be noted that the exact cause of the arrest of the person is yet to be ascertained.
