Guwahati: In a shocking incident in Assam’s Golaghat, a man was killed in an attack by an assailant who also injured his wife and child on Friday.
The incident took place at Athkheliya Charingia village in Golaghat.
The man identified as Dwipen Das was allegedly stabbed by an assailant with sharp weapons.
The assailant has been identified as Najidul Hussain.
According to reports, Hussain allegedly attacked Dwipen with sharp weapons, murdering him on the spot.
Meanwhile, Dwipen’s wife and child were also injured in the attack, as the assailant Hussain allegedly attacked all three family members.
The injured were immediately rushed to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) for better treatment.
Following the attack on the family, the angered locals of the village vandalised the assailant’s home.
Local police reached the spot scene and launched an inquiry into the occurrence.
Officials claimed that the people set fire to Hussain’s home and a poultry farm he owned.
However, the reason behind the attack on the family is yet to be ascertained.
