Guwahati: Sensation prevailed at South Salmara-Mankachar district of Assam after a minor girl was found hanging under mysterious circumstances on Saturday.
The incident was reported from Mankachar village.
According to reports, it is suspected that the girl have committed suicide connection to a child marriage-related case.
The deceased minor girl was a resident of Asamer Alga village.
Meanwhile, locals admitted the girl to the Hatsingimari Civil Hospital after her body was recovered this morning.
However, doctors of the hospital declared her dead.
The Mankachar Police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
It should be noted that the Assam Police has initiated a countrywide campaign against underage marriage where as many as 2,789 people have been arrested so far.
