Assam: Miscreants Pour Petrol to Businessman and Set Fire to Establishment in Goreswar

Guwahati, 8th April: In yet another chilling incident that has occurred in Assam, a businessman narrowly escaped a targeted attack by miscreants who doused him in petrol and set fire to his establishment in Goreswar.

The victim, identified as Sukdev Saha, found himself at the center of the horrifying ordeal on Monday morning at his grocery store located on Rainbow English Road under the jurisdiction of the Goreswar police station in Tamulpur district.

Eyewitnesses recount the harrowing sequence of events, detailing how an unidentified individual posing as a customer entered the shop under the guise of purchasing sweet oil. However, what began as a seemingly routine transaction quickly escalated into a violent assault as the assailant unexpectedly hurled petrol at Sukdev Saha before igniting the flames and fleeing the scene.

The immediate and calculated attack left Sukdev Saha engulfed in fire, prompting panic and chaos among bystanders and local residents. Fortunately, Sukdev Saha managed to escape the blaze with his life, albeit sustaining critical injuries in the process.

In the aftermath of the shocking incident, Sukdev Saha was immediately rushed to GMCH for urgent medical treatment, where he remains in critical condition as medical professionals work tirelessly to stabilize his condition.

Meanwhile, law enforcement authorities from the Goreshwar police station swiftly responded to the scene, launching a comprehensive investigation into the attempted murder in a bid to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The motive behind the brazen attack remains shrouded in mystery, leaving the community reeling in disbelief and prompting calls for increased vigilance and security measures to safeguard against similar acts of violence in the future.
