Assam: Mobile phone catches fire mid-air on IndiGo’s Dibrugarh-Delhi flight

Guwahati: On IndiGo’s Dibrugarh-Delhi flight on Thursday, a passenger’s phone caught fire mid-flight, but the cabin crew put it out with a fire extinguisher, according to an official.

The mishap caused no injuries to passengers or cabin staff members, according to officials.

Officials said a cabin staff member spotted sparks and smoke coming from a passenger’s phone while travelling from Dibrugarh, Assam, to Delhi.

The fire was put out by a cabin crew member using a fire extinguisher.

Officials say the plane arrived safely at the Delhi airport around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.

As per the reports, there were no injuries reported in the incident.

It may be mentioned that as the crew has been trained to deal with all types of hazardous situations, and they handled the problem immediately.
