Assam: Morigaon SI Dies Due to Extreme Heat at Orang Eviction Sites
Guwahati, 30 May: A Sub Inspector (SI) on eviction duty near the Orang National Park collapsed and passed away of pressure stroke on Tuesday in Sonitpur district of Assam.
The deceased SI have been identified as Dwijen Borah who was assigned to Orang National Park for the eviction operation that began on May 28.
After inspecting the relocation site, SI Borah suffered pressure stroke that resulted in a serious medical emergency.
He was immediately taken to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) for medical treatment but the medical staff’s best attempts couldn’t save him from the stroke.
The deceased was SI at Morigaon Police Station who was assigned for eviction duty at Orang National Park.
It may be mentioned that today’s temperature in the Sonitpur district is measured at 33 degrees celsius.
