Assam: No New SOP for Saraswati Puja
Guwahati: Assam government will not release a new SoP for Saraswati Puja celebrations in Assam’s educational institutions.
Assam Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Keshab Mahanta said on Sunday that the state government will not issue any additional SoPs for Saraswati Puja celebrations.
Minister Keshab Mahanta stated, “Educational institutions must implement COVID-19 norms, such as wearing masks and maintaining sanitization.”
“Also, the number of persons allowed in a gathering should be proportional to the size of the gathering. “However, there will be no new SoP for Saraswati Puja,” the Minister added.
The new SoP which is to be released in February will not include any mention of the Saraswati Puja celebrations in Assam, as of now.
Educational institutions in Assam may celebrate Saraswati Puja in their respective institutions.
Moreover, Keshab Mahanta also asked the people of the state and the organizers of the Saraswati Puja to follow the mandatory Covid-19 protocols and guidelines issued earlier.
