Guwahati, 21st December: One of the most wanted drug peddler sustained bullet injuries in Assam’s Nagaon during a police encounter on November 20 while attempting to escape custody.
The most wanted drug mafia identified as Hekmat Ali, was injured in police firing at about 2:30 am near Borghat Bypass under Nagaon PS.
Acting on specific intelligence, the Assam Police conducted a search operation at Hekmat Ali’s residence, recovering huge quantities of brown sugar, a vehicle, and various incriminating items.
Preliminary reports indicate that the most wanted drug mafia evaded authorities for an extended period while engaging in illicit activities.
Ali is now receiving medical treatment for his injuries at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
