Guwahati: Assam Police seized about 32kgs of suspected Cannabis (ganja) and four women have been arrested from Karimganj district on Friday.
The incident took place at Churaibari area along the Assam -Tripura border.
The arrestees identified as Namita Devvarma, Rezina Devvarma, Mangalakshi Devvarma, and Payal Sing. All of them is a resident of Bihar.
During random checking of vehicles, a bus bearing registration no AS01HC 9034 was intercepted by the on-duty police personnel. On checking the vehicle, 32kgs of suspected Cannabis (ganja) were recovered.
According to reports, they were heading towards Guwahati from Tripura.
It may be mentioned that the recovered ganga was worth Rs3.20 lakh.
