Assam: Police Officer Assaulted in Guwahati Bar Confrontation

Guwahati, 21st April: In a shocking development, a police officer stationed at Basistha Police Station in Guwahati, Assam, fell victim to a violent assault by troublemakers following a confrontation at a local bar.

Initial accounts indicate that the officer, identified as Pradeep Basumatary, responded to complaints from locals about ongoing altercations and disturbances at the ECHO bar. However, a verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation between the officer and several individuals present at the establishment. Consequently, the officer suffered a severe assault at the hands of the perpetrators, who even attempted to immolate him by dousing him in diesel.
