Assam: Police seize 2,800 litres of stolen condensate oil from Duliajan
Guwahati: Assam Police on Friday seized 2,800 litres of condensate oil stolen from Oil India Limited (OIL)’s crude oil transportation pipelines.
In a joint operation by the oil security personnel and Bordubi police officials seized a large quantity of condensate oil in Duliajan.
The officials seized the condensate oil from a dumper truck registration bearing number AS 23 CC 3205.
However, the driver and the handyman of the dumper truck fled from the spot before the police could nab them.
Meanwhile, the police officials are currently investigating into the entire incident.
It needs to be mentioned that theft of crude oil has been a major issue for oil companies like Oil India Limited and the ONGC in Assam. Oil India Limited has even procured drones for surveillance of their pipelines and other wares. The surveillance is mainly done to curb pilferage of crude oil, condensate, theft of pipes, tampering with wellheads, and tapping of crude oil delivery pipelines.
