Guwahati: Assam Police seized about 105kgs of suspected Cannabis (ganja) and one person have been arrested from Kokrajhar district on Thursday.
The incident took place at Srirampur of the district.
The arrestee has been identified as Aarif Khan who is a resident of Bijapur Faridabad in Haryana.
According to reports, a vehicle bearing registration no HR 38 U 1778 was intercepted by the police personnel. On checking the vehicle, 10 packets of Ganja weighing about 105 kgs was concealed in between the other goods, based on reliable information.
The cannabis was loaded at Kharupetia and Mangaldoi and was heading towards Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh.
It needs to be mentioned that during further interrogation, the accused confessed that he is working with three other people from the Gossaigaon area.
