Assam: Protests at Dhubri over train stoppage demand

Guwahati, 17th September: Agitated protests were held outside the Agomoni railway station in Assam’s Dhubri by a number of organizations, including the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and the AKRASU on Sunday.

As per reports, the demonstrators’ main demand is for the motion of the New Jalpaiguri-Guwahati passenger train to be stopped at the station. The protest is also in support of a number of other demands made by the protesting groups.

Senior police officers and representatives of the district administration were present at the location to oversee the situation.
