Assam: Punjab CM Bhagwat Mann mocks state media in Dibrugarh, says news channels glorify CM Sarma

Guwahati, 12th April: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwat Mann ignited fervor among supporters as he campaigned for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Manoj Dhanwar in Assam’s Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency.

Mann resonated with the audience, asserting, “In a country where the king is a trader, the people of that country are beggars.”

His campaign trail commenced at the Gopnari Bengali Balijan ground in Digboi, where he championed AAP’s vision and agenda.

Mann also took a dig at the media, remarking that if the state’s television channels belong to the Chief Minister, they will inevitably glorify him. He extended a challenge to media representatives, saying, “Is there anyone from the CM’s channel? Then please show him this.”

The anticipation and excitement surrounding Mann’s arrival at Mohanbari airport, aboard a Vistara flight, underscored the growing momentum behind AAP’s campaign.

AAP’s focus on securing victory in Dibrugarh and Sonitpur, two pivotal Lok Sabha seats among the state’s 14 constituencies, reflects the party’s strategic approach to Assam’s electoral landscape.
