Guwahati: In a tragic road accident, a person was killed at Dekapam village in Dhemaji district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Udaipur Tiniali on the national highway 515 in Jonai of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Upen Daimary.
According to reports, the accident took place as two motorcycles collided head-on resulting in the death of the rider of one two-wheeler.
Reportedly, Daimary was employed as an assistant teacher at the Mohanpur Primary School. He was driving to work when he got involved in an accident.
Meanwhile, two other people were injured in the accident. Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.
Officials informed that the injured were brought to the nearby Dekapam hospital and are receiving treatment, while the deceased’s body has been sent for a post-mortem.
