Assam: SEBA Introduces New Guidelines for HSLC Exam 2025, Including AI & Robotics Elective

Guwahati, 28th April: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), has unveiled fresh guidelines for the upcoming High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination slated for 2025.

Key highlights of the new guidelines include:

  1. Four Sets of OMR Question Papers: Students will encounter four sets of question papers (A, B, C, and D) in the OMR format during the HSLC examination.
  2. Introduction of “Artificial Intelligence and Robotics” Elective: A new elective subject titled “Artificial Intelligence and Robotics” will be added for Class IX students. Passing percentage criteria apply to both the MCQ and Descriptive Questions sections.
  3. Practical Examinations: The District Level Internal Examination Committee will administer practical examinations for all subjects.
  4. Subject-wise Question Patterns: Questions in English and other languages may feature unseen passages and grammar items, focusing on learning outcomes rather than specific chapters. Science and Mathematics questions will be concept-based, not solely derived from textbooks. Examples and references may also be incorporated.
  5. Application-based MCQs: Some multiple-choice questions (MCQs) may require summations and calculations, aligning with learning outcomes derived from subject content.
  6. Revision in Question Patterns: Question patterns across all subjects, including vocational ones, will be revised in accordance with the directives outlined in the National Education Policy of 2020.

These guidelines signify SEBA’s commitment to enhancing the quality and relevance of the HSLC examination, aligning with contemporary educational paradigms and preparing students for future challenges in various fields, including emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
