Guwahati: A speeding truck smashed into a family of five, killing them and severely injuring them while taking a photo at Narayan Setu in Assam’s Bongaigaon district.
According to reports, the family was taking selfies on the bridge with their automobile stopped by the side when a speeding truck having the registration number ‘AS 27C 8411’ slammed into their car, hurting everyone in the area.
Reportedly, the injured include ladies and a kid, who have been admitted to a hospital in Goalpara in critical condition.
Meanwhile, all of the casualties were from Dubapara in Goalpara district.
It may be mentioned that the truck was loaded with gas cylinders at the time of the collision, yet the situation did not worsen.
The Naranarayan Setu is the third bridge built across the Brahmaputra River in Assam. It connects Jogighopa, a town in Bongaigaon District, to Pancharatna, a town in Goalpara District, on the north side.
