Assam State Zoo Welcomes 3 New Rhinos

Guwahati: The Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden in Guwahati welcomed three new rhinos from Kaziranga.

The rhinos came from the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation  (CWRC).

They were relocated as part of the Zoo’s breeding and conservation programme.

According to forest officials, all of the rhinos were rescued during the floods of 2019-2020 and have been at the CWRC since then.

They will be kept in separate enclosures at the Assam State Zoo.

As per reports, one is a male and the other two are females.

The rhinos have also been given their own enclosure at the Assam State Zoo.

Meanwhile, the rhinos will be housed in separate enclosures for nearly a month to allow them to adjust to their new environment.
