Two APLA militants held in Assam
Guwahati: Two Adivasi People’s Liberation Army (APLA) ultras including its self-styled Commander-in-Chief were nabbed by the police from Golaghat district of Assam on Thursday.
The arrested militants were identified as Sahil Munda who is the C-in-C of APLA and Jayanta Haok.
According to reports, both of them were wanted for extortion and threats, among other anti-national crimes.
The duo was apprehended by combined sleuths from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and state police in the Uriamghat area of Golaghat district, near the Assam-Nagaland border.
The police officials have also seized two point 32 pistols, 10 live ammunition and the letterhead of the banned outfit from their possession.
