Assam: Three killed, two injured in Chirang

Guwahati: At least three was killed and two injured in two separate shootings in Chirang district of Assam on Tuesday.

The first incident happened at the Indo-Bhutan border in Chirang district. The shootings took place between police and miscreants. The bullets were fired by police in Chidaguri, which is within the jurisdiction of the Runikhata police station.

However, two armed youths were killed in the firing and one was injured.

The injured have been identified as Prakash Medhi, Additional Superintendent of Police at Chirang district.

Meanwhile, various items including two rescue pistols were recovered from the spot.

The second incident took place at Khamarpara under Dhaligaon police station in Chirang were a miscreant shot and killed a young man.

The young man was identified as Raja Baro. He was shot dead by a miscreant on a bike.

It needs to be noted that young people were killed in Thita.
