Assam: Train Services Halted in Silchar After Mishap Causes Electric Posts to Fall

Guwahati, 6th September: Train services were temporarily halted on the railway line passing through Chandranathpur Railway Station near Silchar, Assam, due to a mishap that led to several electric posts falling down.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a dangling electrical wire from an under-construction electrical rail post became entangled with the wheels of a moving train. This entanglement resulted in the collapse of several electrical posts along the railway line.

The incident transpired near the Chandranathpur Railway Station in Silchar, situated in Assam’s Cachar district.

The Silchar-Coimbatore train was in motion when the dangling wire became entangled with its wheels, triggering the incident.

Following the mishap, train services on the affected railway line were suspended for approximately four hours. While the incident caused panic among passengers on the train, there were no reported injuries or loss of life.
