Assam: Tuskar Causes Destruction in Goalpara

Guwahati: With the degradation of forests and shrinking of habitats, human-elephant conflicts are rising in the northeastern states, mainly in Assam as an elephant attacked a village on Monday night.

The incident occurred at Dhekiabari village in Goalpara district.

Reports claim that the incident happened when the elephant came in search of food.

The elephant destroyed houses of several families in search of food.

The elephant ate rice and paddy in the stables.

The elephant raged nearby for about an hour.

However, no casualties have been reported so far.
