Assam: UPPL Gears Up for Assam Assembly By-Elections
Guwahati, August 19, 2024: The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), an alliance partner of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is preparing for the upcoming Assam Assembly by-elections set for September. A core committee meeting was held in Kokrajhar City to strategize for the by-election, particularly focusing on the Sidli constituency where UPPL will contest.
The by-elections will cover five assembly constituencies in Assam. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has allocated two of these constituencies to its NDA partners, the UPPL and the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).
Raju Narzary, General Secretary of UPPL, confirmed that the party will participate in the by-election and highlighted that the meeting addressed both election strategies and other party-related matters.
