Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika Visits Dibrugarh To Inspect Erosion
Guwahati: The Assam Water Resource Minister, Pijush Hazarika visited Tengabari Ghat in Mulukgaon in Chabua on Thursday to assess the status of the projects undertaken to stop the river Brahmaputra’s erosion.
The minister was accompanied on his visit to Chabua in the Dibrugarh district by MLAs Ponakan Barua, MP Pradan Baruah, and Balin Chetia, as well as other representatives from the Water Resources Department.
The minister also visited to the Sadiya constituency’s Hatikhuli and Phelai areas to check the Brahmaputra River’s erosion and the water resource department’s preventative efforts. He also gave the department authorities the order to lay 2,500 Geo Bags in order to stop the erosion.
