Maharashtra Govt cuts petrol price by Rs 5 per litre, diesel by Rs 3

Guwahati: The Maharashtra Government has decided to reduce value added tax on Petrol and diesel.

This was announced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

However, the prices of petrol and diesel has been reduced by Rs 5 per litre and Rs 3 per litre respectively.

While speaking to reporters, after a cabinet meeting Shinde informed that at Mantrlaya the decision would entail a burden of 6000 crore on the state Exchequer.

The prices of petrol and diesel was holding steady at Rs 111. 35 and Rs 97.28 and now it will cost Rs106. 35 and Rs 94.28 respectively.
