Assam: Weapon Used in Dibrugarh Firing Incident Recovered By Police, 1 Arrested

Guwahati: A.9 mm pistol used in the shooting incident that occurred on October 31 at Laluka village has been recovered by the Dibrugarh Police.

The pistol was recovered in near a pond in Jopora Gaon in Dibrugarh district of Assam.

The police also arrested another accused identified as Tipu in relation to the shooting incident. Five people in total have been arrested so far in the incident.

It should be noted that a middle-aged man identified as Siddharth Rajkonwar was fired at by unidentified miscreants in a tire shop near Laluka village in Dibrugarh, seriously injuring him.

Despite being fired at point blank range, the bullet wound fortunately did not prove fatal, reports stated.

Last month, the Dibrugarh Police had announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for anyone who could provide information leading to the recovery of the pistol.
