Assam: White Sandalwood Worth Crores Seized In Dabaka, 3 Arrested

Guwahati: Intensifying strict search operation against the timber smuggling, a large quantity of white sandalwood logs worth crores was seized and arrested three persons in the connection in Hojai district of Assam on Thursday.

The arrestees identified as Abdul Aahad, Kamrul Islam, and Hilal Ahmed.

The seizure took at Dabaka town of the district.

According to reports, the white sandalwood logs were chopped off from Dabaka Reserve Forest.

The logs were discovered from Kamrul Islam’s house in Nahor village.

Meanwhile, the matter is being investigated by the police.

It needs to be noted that sandalwood is very common forest product of the State.
