It’s worth noting that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted heavy to extremely heavy rains in the state until May 2 on Friday.

It is expected that extensive rains and thunderstorms will continue throughout the northeastern state during this time due to strong southwesterly moisture winds from the Bay of Bengal. From Friday to Sunday, rain will fall at a rate of 20-30mm per day, increasing to 50mm per day from Monday forward.

During most days of the week, the weather department predicts widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, or gusty winds (speeds reaching 40-50 kmph) over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, and scattered/fairly widespread rainfall over Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura and sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim.
