Guwahati: Panic gripped in the oil town of Digboi after a device suspected of being a live bomb was discovered along the Digboi-Pengri road at Bhimpathar Tiniali on Saturday morning.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, a local youth discovered a strange bag about 6 am and called the Digboi police.
A bomb disposal crew has also been dispatched, and the procedure of defusing the explosive is currently underway.
Following the incident, security in and around Digboi Township has been increased.
The police and Indian Army are currently looking into numerous possibilities, including a link between this incident and militant groups operating in Assam.
