Assam: Youth arrested for his involvement with ULFA(I) in Baksa
Guwahati: Amid the circumstances of an increasing number of youths joining ULFA(I) from different parts of the State, Assam Police has arrested one youth for his alleged involvement with ULFA(I) from Baksa district on Wednesday.
The youth has been identified as Lachit Sharaniya who is a resident of Silakuti village of the district.
Sharaniya has been reportedly arrested from his residence.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, police officials recover few evidence proving that the accused is involved with ULFA(I).
The police officials further stated that the youth will appear in court to seek police detention for another 14 days.
On the other hand, the police official informed that a youth identified as Uddhav Das who is a resident of Barpeta district was also suspected to joined the proscribed ULFA-I.
The police are now investigating the matter but it is not yet confirmed if he was abducted or he joined the outfit.
However, the family denied the fact that the youth is in touch with the ULFA.
