Hyderabad fire incident: PM Modi announces Rs 2 lakh to next of kin of deacesed
Guwahati: Prime MInister Narendra Modi has approved ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) which would be given to the next of kin of the deceased.
In a series of tweets, Prime Minister Office said,”Pained by the loss of lives due to a tragic fire in Bhoiguda, Hyderabad. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of the deceased: PM @narendramodi”
At least 11 people killed in a massive fire at timber godown in Telangana’s Secunderabad of Hyderabad in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to reports, around 12 migrant workers trapped in the godown located in a crowded area of Secunderabad’s Bhoiguda when the fire erupted.
Meanwhile, it was reported that one worker escaped the fire by jumping from the first floor of the two-storey building, eleven workers lost their lives
It may be mentioned that the reason behind the fire is suspected to be an electric short circuit.
Legal action has been initiated into the matter and further investigation is underway.
It is to be noted that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressing condolences over the incident has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each for the workers who were killed in the fire.
Moreover, he directed the Chief Secretary to make arrangements for the repatriation of their bodies.
