Assam: Youth drowns in Dhubri while bathing in river

Guwahati, 15th April: In a tragic incident, a youth lost his life while taking a bath in Champabati River at Assam’s Dhubri district.

The incident occurred in Bahalpur of Chapar.

The victim has been identified as Yogeshwar Rai and was a resident of Bahalpur Boropara village.

The incident took place today when the victim went to take a bath in the river and went missing.

According to sources, Rai was swept away by the strong current of the river.

After sometime, Rai’s lifeless body was found floating in the river by the locals.

Locals rescued Rai after seeing him floating and rushed him to a primary health centre (PHC) in Chapar with the help of 108 ambulances.

Despite their efforts, doctors at the PHC declared him dead upon arrival

Meanwhile, the incident has sent shockwaves across the region over the incident.
