Assam youth missing, suspected to have joined ULFA(I)
Guwahati: A youth from Assam have been suspected to have joined the Paresh Baruah-led insurgent group United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
The youth identified as Pankaj Gogoi, a resident of Joypur town under Naharkatia block of Dibrugarh district in Assam.
Reportedly, Gogoi had gone missing since May 23.
The family members of the missing youth claimed that Gogoi went to Sapekhati town in Sivasagar district and didn’t return back home.
However, the inquiry into the matter is still ongoing, and it is unclear whether he have joined the outfit or not.
It needs to be noted that Assamese youths continue to join the Assam United Liberation Front (Independent). On a daily basis, young people are joining the prohibited organisation.
