Guwahati: Well known Assamese poet Balavadra Das also known as ‘Xuhuri Kobi’ passed away on Thursday morning.
The eminent poet was suffering from cancer since the past one year and was undergoing treatment for the same.
Notably, Balavadra Das was well-known for his whistling skills.
He had made significant contributions to Assamese poetry. Das had two books of poetry collections published.
