Assam’s Actor Spandan Borthakur Passes Away due to Cardic Arrest

Guwahati, 21st March: In a tragic incident, Assamese actor Spandan Borthakur succumbed to a cardiac arrest while aboard a train in Tripura on the evening of March 20. Borthakur, renowned for his versatile performances, left an indelible mark on the film industry.

Borthakur embarked on his cinematic journey with his debut in the movie “Astittwa,” where he garnered acclaim for his portrayal of a significant negative character. His talent further shone in the nationally and internationally acclaimed Hindi short film “Sorry,” where he starred alongside actor Ravi Sarma. Additionally, he was actively involved in the upcoming films “Hanuman” by Himanshu Prasad Das and “Local KungFu3” by Kenny Basumatary, both currently in production.

Recently, Borthakur showcased his versatility by essaying the role of AASU Advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya in a web series, demonstrating his ability to adapt to diverse characters.

Beyond his acting endeavors, Borthakur held a degree in Mathematics from Cotton College and was actively engaged in various NGOs focused on environmental and wildlife conservation efforts. Moreover, he boasted a professional background representing major international apparel brands in the northeastern region.

The sudden demise of Spandan Borthakur has sent shockwaves through the Assamese film industry and among his fans, who mourn the loss of a talented artist known for his remarkable contributions.
