Assam’s Army Officer Dies Due to Severe Cold in Ladakh

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, an Indian army officer from Assam allegedly died in Ladakh from exposure to the subzero temperatures.

The incident was reported on January 23.

According to reports, the army officer has been identified as Jaikhlong Mushahary. He was a resident of Banseria in Udalguri district’s Tangla.

The deceased was assigned to the Rashtriya Rifles No. 31 in Ladakh as a commission officer.

It should be noted, Ladakh has been witnessing a severe cold wave for the past few days. Early on January 17, Drass Town had a temperature plunge of -29 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, Leh froze to – 15.6 celsius while Kargil reached minus 20.9 celsius.
