Austrian Government extends its coronavirus lockdown until 7 February

European country Austria has extended its third COVID-19 lockdown until 7 February. The Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz announced it on Sunday. Sebastian Kurz said ” the country needs to bring its new infections down to 50 per one lakh residents over seven days from 130 now.

The Government also said that the  shops, museums and personal services like hairdressers will reopen from Feb. 8, however the catering and tourism sectors will stay closed until March. Earlier thousands of people marched in Austria against restrictions imposed due to COVID-19.
