Guwahati: The men’s basketball team from Assam has been placed on indefinite suspension and is not allowed to play in any games for a year.
The Assam Olympic Association made this decision after the squad abandoned the playing field in the middle of a game.
The incident took place during the team’s last game at the Northeast Olympic Games in Shillong.
The basketball team has been placed under indefinite suspension, which prevents them from participating in any association games. In line with this the team’s management and coach have both been suspended.
Notably, the basketball organisation has already received a notification from the Assam Olympic Association.
