Bharat Jodo Yatra to Resume in Delhi

Guwahati: The “Bharat Jodo Yatra” led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will resume today after a nine-day winter break from Uttar Pradesh.

During the yatra which was more than 110-day journey over 3,000 kilometres have been marched . Before the break, the yatra travelled from the southern states to Rajasthan and Delhi.

The Yatra has so far covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Haryana which began on September 7 from Kanyakumari. Jammu and Kashmir will serve as its climax.

According to the Congress, it is the longest foot march by an Indian politician in Indian history.

Rahul Gandhi wants to mobilise the party apparatus and bring the populace together in opposition to the BJP’s “divisive politics in the country” through this yatra.

The Congress is getting ready to launch the “Haath Se Haath Jodo” campaign to broadcast the yatra’s message across the nation following the current “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” which will conclude in Srinagar on January 26.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, national general secretary of the AICC has reportedly been given the task of leading the “Haath Se Haath Jodo” campaign across the nation with a focus on women by the former president of the Congress.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said, “After the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress will launch a two-month ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo Campaign’. As part of this initiative, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will lead foot marches and rallies with women members in every state capital to spread the message of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.

As per reports, Priyanka will lead a wave of marches in March with women cadres, focusing on growing inflation and its effects on the general population, especially the middle class. Other female-related topics will also be a major focal point.

Priyanka is the face of the Congress campaign, which aims to win over women voters who make up almost 50% of the electorate.
