Guwahati: At least 6 Assam Police personnel were killed on Monday’s clash at Lailapur in Cachar along the border with Mizoram.
Silchar medical college has so far confirmed 36 injuries on the Assam side.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet confirmed the deaths and further, there are reports that Cachar’s Superintendent of Police was also injured in the clashes. The clashes took place as a result of the long-standing border dispute on the Assam-Mizoram border areas.
