BSF and Meghalaya Police Rescue 69 Cattle in Smuggling Bust

Northeast Desk, 31st July: The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya on July 31 in collaboration with the Meghalaya police, rescued 69 cattle from smuggling operations and arrested six Indian nationals involved in the illegal activity.

The cattle were found loaded in four Bolero pick-up vehicles near the international border in the West Garo Hills district, specifically around the village of Dalu. The BSF statement indicated that the animals were intended for smuggling into Bangladesh.

The joint operation led by the 100 Battalion BSF Meghalaya resulted in the seizure of the cattle and the detention of the suspects. Both the cattle and the arrested individuals have been handed over to the Dalu police station for further legal proceedings.

This operation highlights the BSF’s ongoing commitment to border security and anti-smuggling efforts, showcasing the successful collaboration between BSF and local law enforcement agencies in maintaining vigilance and protecting the borders.
