BSF IG Meets Tripura DGP to Discuss State Security
Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura, A K Sharma, held a closed-door meeting with Tripura Police DGP Amitabh Ranjan on January 18 to deliberate on the security situation in the state. While the specifics of the discussion remain undisclosed, the meeting underscored the importance of inter-agency coordination to address ongoing security concerns.
Tripura, sharing a sensitive border with Bangladesh, has seen heightened vigilance by the BSF to ensure border security. Measures include monitoring illegal cross-border activities and maintaining peace in the region.
In a related development, a courtesy meeting was held between the Sector Commander of BSF Panisagar and the Sector Commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Srimangal at the Land Custom Station (LCS) Chatalpur/LCS Manughat. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration and coordination between the two border-guarding forces, fostering better understanding and cooperation.
Meanwhile, the BSF Tripura has been actively engaging in community-building initiatives. As part of its Civic Action Programme, the force distributed books, notebooks, stationery, and sports equipment to students of a local school in Malda Kumar Para village. The event was attended by villagers, teachers, and the school’s headmaster, highlighting the BSF’s efforts to connect with local communities and support education in border areas.
These developments underscore the BSF’s dual role in safeguarding borders and fostering goodwill within local communities, reflecting its commitment to both security and social responsibility.
