Bus on way to Modi rally Meets with Accident in Assam’s Nagaon
Guwahati: In a horrifying incident, several people who were on their way to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Loringthepi in Karbi Anglong district of Assam sustained injuries when the bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck at Kathiatali town in Nagaon district on Thursday morning.
According to reports, the bus was bringing passengers from West Karbi Anglong to the prime minister’s event.
Reportedly, several passengers on board the bus was hurt.
As per one traveller, “There isn’t a single police officer on duty on such a crucial day as today. A large number of people have been injured. There are no plans in place to manage traffic in this area.”
It should be noted that the transportation department has put almost 5,000 buses into service to convey people to the programme locations.
Narendra Modi will deliver the keynote talk at the ‘unity, peace, and development rally’ in Loringthepi of Karbi Anglong where he will lay the groundwork for many educational and development projects costing over Rs 500 crore. He will also virtually inaugurate seven cancer hospitals and lay the foundation for seven more across Assam from Khanikar Park in Dibrugarh.
