Guwahati: A husband-wife duo has been arrested by the Guwahati Police allegedly stealing a ‘Shivalinga’ from a temple in Basistha area of city on Wednesday.
The husband-wife duo identified as Mukesh Sahani and Saraswati Bora respectively.
According to reports, Mukesh is a resident of Bihar while Saraswati hails from Nagaon district of Assam.
Reportedly, the duo allegedly entered the temple as worshippers and stole the ‘Shivalinga’ without anyone’s knowledge.
It needs to be mentioned that the police officials have recovered the stolen ‘Shivalinga’ along with two snake statues from their possession.
